Ballet & Pointe

Ballet is a classical dance form demanding grace and precision, using formalized steps and vocabulary.  Correct technique, flexibility and strength are emphasized in class.

The class consists with a series of barre, center floor and across the floor exercises.   Technique and fundamentals are built upon at a successive rate.  The Dance Director and Instructor decide upon the advancement rate through the Ballet Program for the student.

Mini Ballet is generally recommended for beginning dancers, age 5 to 8 years.

Junior Ballet is recommended for the ballet student from age 8 to 12 years.

Dancers with more ballet experience are recommended for Intermediate  or Advance Ballet classes.

Students demonstrating satisfactory strength, technique and progress are recommended for Pointe class.   All Pointe students must be recommended by the Dance Director and/or a Ballet Instructor.

Our Ballet/Pointe Instructors are highly qualified in teaching all levels of classes.

Dress Code:     Ballet students must wear a black leotard, pink tights and pink ballet shoes.   Hair must be pulled securely up and away from the face and neck.  Warm-ups are allowed for the first few minutes of class, but must be removed for the Instructor to view the student's body lines and technique.   Ballet skirts are allowed in class; however, cover-ups are not allowed.

All Pointe students must also purchase pointe shoes.   Please see the Dance Director and/or the Ballet Instructor for guidance on purchasing Pointe shoes.
